Unemployment benefit in Chile 2026: how much, and for how long
Unemployment benefit replaces part of your pay when you lose your job, if you were insured long enough. The calculator above estimates the amount and how long it is paid, from your salary and age, with the 2026 rules.
The rules in brief
- Unemployment insurance: The unemployment insurance (AFC) pays first from your individual account and then, if it runs short, from the Solidarity Fund: 70% of your average pay in month 1, 55%, 45%, 40% and 35% in months 2–5 (more months in times of high unemployment), with upper and lower limits on the fund’s payments. The employer’s 1.6% share of its 2.4% contribution can be deducted from your severance.
