Notice periods in Croatia 2026
The notice an employer must give often grows with the years you have worked for them. The calculator above works out your notice period from your hire date and last day, together with severance and final pay.
The rules in brief
- Notice and severance: The notice period is 2 weeks under 1 year of service, 1 month after 1 year, 6 weeks after 2, 2 months after 5, 2.5 months after 10 and 3 months after 20 years, plus 2 weeks (age 50+) or 1 month (age 55+) with 20 years at the same employer. After 2 years, dismissal not caused by the worker gives severance of at least one third of average monthly pay per year of service, at most 6 months’ pay; up to €1,500 per year of service is tax-free.
