Private pension in Morocco 2026: what a contribution really costs

Paying into a private or workplace pension in Morocco usually lowers your tax and sometimes your social-security contributions, so each unit you put in costs you less than it adds to the plan. The calculator above works this out for your salary. Below you will find this year’s effect on your pay, the tax rules and how the plan compares with saving the money yourself.

This year: salary without and with the plan

        Without plan (MAD)With plan (MAD)
        Gross / year (incl. bonus)96,00096,000
        Social security−5,532−5,532
        Your contribution–−4,800
        Income tax−3,294−2,334
        Take-home / year87,17483,334
        Employer contribution–+0
Into the plan (you + employer)–4,800
        Total received / year (take-home + plan)87,17488,134

In the example, your net pay is MAD 6,944.53 a month with the plan: MAD 320.00 less than without it (MAD 7,264.53) · tax & contributions saved cover 20.0%. You save MAD 960 a year (tax + social security), so each unit you pay in costs you MAD 0.80. The balance could reach MAD 145,793 (you MAD 96,000 · employer MAD 0 · return MAD 49,793); at payout that is about MAD 131,214 net (after 10.0% tax & charges).

        Tax treatment

Retirement savings contracts (contrats d’épargne retraite) and the supplementary CIMR pension: contributions are deductible and the benefits are taxed with an abatement (about 10% used here). Interest on savings is taxed at 20% at source. Contributions to a retirement savings contract lasting at least 8 years and paid out from age 50 are deductible up to 50% of your net taxable pay (MAD 48,000 for you).

The plan or saving it yourself?

Contributions of MAD 4,800 exceed the limit by MAD 0; the excess gets no relief.
