Uruguay state pension 2026: how it is calculated
The public pension in Uruguay follows national rules that usually look at your years of work or contributions, your pay and the age at which you claim it. The calculator above applies the 2026 rules to your own working life. Below you will find the rules in brief, an example by claim age and what your contributions buy.
The rules in brief
- Retirement: Under the 2023 reform (Ley 20.130) the retirement age rises gradually to 65 for people born from 1973, with at least 30 years of service. The pension combines a BPS benefit and an annuity from your AFAP account, with a supplement that raises low pensions; working after the minimum age raises it.
Example: pension by claim age
